A little gaming corner of the old web to get lost in.

Hello, fellow handheld enthusiast.

This is a personal place for everything I love about portable gaming and the people who make it interesting.

A little about me (and this place)

I'm a gaming journalist whose work has increasingly found its way into the wonderful little world of handheld gaming, retro handhelds and emulation. I interview developers, review hardware, follow the emulation scene and occasionally disappear down a rabbit hole to write a retrospective about a game I can't stop thinking about. I've also become a huge fan of the Sony PSP — a little late to the party, perhaps, but I'm making up for lost time.

Lately, it's the wave of dual-screen handhelds that has me particularly excited. They seem to have appeared out of nowhere, and with the Retroid Pocket Duo and Anbernic RG DS on their way for review, I've plenty to keep me busy. Handheld Hideout is my little detour from the more serious side of my writing, somewhere to share whatever catches my fancy. I hope you enjoy poking around, assuming I can keep it up!

Small screens, big feelings.
